This allows us to verify <strong>the effectiveness of our filters<\/strong> instant by instant and guarantee total environmental transparency.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<h3>Circular Economy and Waste Management<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/rifiutiindustriali.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Being a secondary melting foundry means <strong>having recycling in our DNA<\/strong>. <br \/>We not only give new life to metal scrap, but manage every industrial waste stream with the goal of reintroducing it into the economic cycle, minimising the plant&#8217;s ecological footprint. <br \/>Over <strong>98% of the special waste<\/strong> produced by Fonderie Palmieri is destined for recovery operations. <br \/>Thanks to commercial agreements built up over time with the leading operators in the industrial waste supply chain, we guarantee total traceability and maximum regulatory compliance for every single stream. <strong>Digital Traceability:<\/strong> All process residues are strictly classified by EWC code and managed through dedicated software active since 2018. <br \/><strong>Process Efficiency:<\/strong> The ratio between waste produced and iron melted is a key indicator we monitor annually. As it was a complex and innovative technology, its introduction initially led to a significant increase in the plant&#8217;s water consumption.<br \/><strong>2021 &#8211;<\/strong> <strong>The consumption reduction plan<br \/><\/strong>To offset this impact, the company carried out a thorough overhaul of its plant systems, activating <strong>6 Zehnder filtration units<\/strong> on the melting line and simultaneously decommissioning the previous water misting system.<\/p>\n<p>This technological transition kicked off a structured plan to reduce water consumption, the positive results of which are clearly measurable and tracked in our internal environmental performance indicators<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<h3>\n<p>Energy Efficiency and the ISO 50001 System<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Image_csmaeocsmaeocsma.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Medium-frequency induction furnaces are Fonderie Palmieri&#8217;s main source of energy consumption. <br \/>The path towards <strong>ISO 50001:2018<\/strong> certification \u2014 achieved in March 2022 \u2014 began in 2018 with a screening exercise that identified significant energy sources and led to the installation of <strong>continuous monitoring sensors<\/strong> for electricity, gas and compressed air.<\/p>\n<p>A dedicated internal team coordinates the management of the <strong>Energy Management System<\/strong>, defines operating practices for each department and plans improvement targets. <br \/>Actions already implemented include: installing inverters and <strong>energy recovery<\/strong> drives on the main motors, progressively replacing all lighting fixtures with LED technology, and <strong>optimising production scheduling<\/strong> to reduce consumption for the same tonnage produced.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<h2>Carbon Footprint<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>In line with the most advanced demands of the market and the global supply chain, Fonderie Palmieri independently manages the reporting of its climate impacts. <br \/>Using dedicated advanced calculation tools, our <strong>Carbon Footprint study<\/strong> has been prepared.<\/p>\n<p>The analysis takes a comprehensive approach covering the entire life cycle of our products, <strong>quantifying CO2-equivalent emissions<\/strong> divided into three strategic phases:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Upstream (Scope 3):<\/strong> the impact linked to the sourcing and production of raw materials.<br \/><strong>\u2022 In production (Scope 1 and 2):<\/strong> the plant&#8217;s energy consumption and direct processes.<br \/><strong>\u2022 Downstream (Scope 3):<\/strong> the emissions generated by logistics, transport and distribution stages.<\/p>\n<p>The
