Products
Fonderie Palmieri produces castings in a wide range of cast irons and special alloys, selected according to the mechanical, thermal, and environmental requirements of each application.
Material selection is an integral part of our engineering service: each grade meets specific requirements in terms of strength, machinability, temperature behavior, and durability in service.
Elevators
Cast iron castings for lifting systems: pulleys, hoists, and structural components for elevators and hoisting equipment.
The castings are produced in spheroidal graphite iron EN-GJS-700-2 and grey iron EN-GJL-250, materials that combine mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and vibration damping — essential requirements for components subject to repeated load cycles and high safety standards.

Compressors
Fonderie Palmieri is an established supplier of castings for refrigeration compressors, screw, piston, and special gas compressors (methane, CO₂).
The castings — compressor bodies, cylinder liners, stators — are produced in grey iron EN-GJL and spheroidal graphite iron EN-GJS, with low-resin-content cores to ensure the integrity of complex internal channels.
For cryogenic applications, Niresist D2 austenitic irons are available, offering good dimensional stability at low temperatures.

Rail
Fonderie Palmieri is IRIS ISO 22163:2023 certified for the design and production of castings intended for rolling stock, a fundamental requirement that qualifies us with the leading European rail manufacturers.
We develop critical components — such as axle box bodies, wagon retainers, and structural elements — using a wide range of high-performance spheroidal graphite irons (including EN-GJS-400-18-LT and EN-GJS-500-7). These grades ensure the high standards of toughness, low-temperature resilience, and fatigue resistance required for components subject to dynamic loads and continuous vibration in service.

Construction and agricultural machinery
Cast iron components for earthmoving machinery, construction equipment, and agricultural machinery: sprockets, track shoes, skirtboard liners, augers, and components subject to intense abrasive wear.
The materials used vary depending on the type of stress involved: ADI spheroidal graphite iron EN-GJS-1050-6 for components requiring high mechanical strength and toughness, chromium irons (X Cr 11, X Cr 14), and Nihard for applications where abrasive wear is the critical factor.

Machine tools, general mechanics and special machinery
Castings for processing machinery for plastics, rubber, glass, and textiles: mounting plates, hardness tester heads, sandblasting grates, and complex components resulting from co-design work with the customer.
The range of available materials — from EN-GJL-200 to chromium irons for wear-resistant applications — makes it possible to meet highly diverse requirements in terms of dimensional stability, machinability, and surface resistance.

Engines and marine industry
Fonderie Palmieri produces high-technology components for internal combustion engines: exhaust manifolds in SiMo and Niresist cast iron, cylinder heads, turbine housings, and structural supports.
The production processes for this sector are developed in accordance with the requirements of IATF 16949, with extremely low defect rates. The special irons used — SiMo 5-1, SiMoCr, Niresist D5B and D5S — ensure mechanical stability and oxidation resistance up to operating temperatures of 850°C.

Vibrator motors and electric motors
Housings, stators, and bodies for electric vibrator motors and electric motors, including ATEX-category versions for potentially explosive atmosphere environments.
The castings are produced in spheroidal graphite iron EN-GJS-400-15 and grey iron EN-GJL-250, with particular attention to the dimensional precision of coupling seats and the vibration damping characteristics required by this product category.

Water and fluid movement
Fonderie Palmieri produces cast iron castings for pumps, valve bodies, impellers, diffusers, and flanges intended for civil, industrial, and agricultural water management: from deep well lifting to wastewater drainage, up to applications in ATEX environments.
The materials used — predominantly grey iron EN-GJL and spheroidal graphite iron EN-GJS — ensure resistance to operating pressures, corrosion resistance, and machinability for precision couplings.

Hydraulics and gearboxes
Planet carriers, gearbox housings, and components for industrial gearboxes, multipliers, and orbital motors. The castings are produced in spheroidal graphite iron EN-GJS, with grades selected based on the required ratio between mechanical strength and toughness: EN-GJS-400-18 for standard applications, EN-GJS-600-10 and EN-GJS-800-10 (ADI) for high-stress components in gearboxes with high transmitted torque.

Petrochemical and energy
Castings for applications in highly critical sectors: cyclone separators for power plants, valve bodies, actuators, gas meters, and structural supports.
The materials vary depending on the type of stress involved: spheroidal graphite iron EN-GJS-350-22-LT for low-temperature applications requiring resilience, chromium irons X Cr 27 for components subject to wear and high temperatures. The high level of safety required by this sector is ensured by in-house laboratory testing and an ISO 9001-certified quality system.

Robotics
Bases, arms, joints, and rotating bodies for industrial robotic systems, where dimensional precision goes hand in hand with a carefully crafted aesthetic profile.
The castings are produced in spheroidal graphite iron EN-GJS-500-7 and EN-GJS-500-14 — materials that combine good mechanical strength, machinability, and long-term dimensional stability — developed in co-design with the customer to integrate function and form from the earliest stages of casting design.
